Market Memories

I'm not back from the market in Houston. Market Memories is the name of a quilt designed by L'Atelier Perdu.

Classes with wonderful designers....

... a little bit of embroidery...

... fabrics galore...

... a sheep for the country atmosphere...

 ... some flowers...

... and pieced blocks...

And you get a beautiful quilt which I will hand quilt very soon.

I have chosen Japanese fabrics for the background. I just love how it turned out!

For me market memories are from Pour L'Amour du Fil quiltshow in Nantes, France and I want to pay tribute to Linda Koenig. I was in shock and so sad when I read about Linda's passing on Quiltmania's website yesterday. I attended a class with her last April and she will be missed. She had published two wonderful books and created many, many scrap quilts to inspire us for years to come. Thank you Linda, you have been a sunshine in my quilting journey.

I am pretty sure she would have said : let the quilting go on... as she really rocked!!!

I wrote two posts about Linda, so you can read them by clicking on the dates. One in 2012 and one in May 2016.

I have been silent for quite a while but I have been busy and last week I had organized a traditional hand quilting class on a stand at home with Alexia Rosfelder who teaches Esther Miller's Amish method. It was fabulous!!! So how about a post about this class next time?

Until later,
